Whether you're considering booking your first appointment or already have one scheduled, here's what you can expect during your first two visits.
Our goal is to make your first visit comfortable, clear, and informative. Every visit begins with listening, assessment, and conversation so you have the information you need to feel confident about your care.
Your initial appointment focuses on gathering information and completing a detailed assessment.
During this visit, you can expect:
- We'll talk about your health history, your symptoms, and your goals.
- A thorough examination based on your symptoms and goals.
- A physical examination tailored to your presentation
- Optional assessments such as PostureScreen® and COREscore when clinically appropriate
The purpose of this visit is to gather information and complete a clinical assessment — not to plan care in detail.
At your second visit, Dr. Renee will share the results of your initial assessment and discuss recommended care options in more detail.
This may include:
- A summary of what was observed during your assessment
- Discussion of findings and how they relate to your concerns
- Options for care based on clinical findings
- Opportunity for you to ask questions and participate in planning
This two-visit approach allows time for careful consideration, clarity, and informed decision-making.
Appointment Length

Chiropractic care focuses on identifying and treating problems involving the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system that may be contributing to pain or restricted movement. Treatment may include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation exercises, and education to help reduce pain, improve movement, and support your body's natural healing process.
Yes. Chiropractic care for children uses gentle, age-appropriate techniques tailored to each child's needs. Whether they're dealing with growing pains, posture concerns, sports injuries, or general aches and pains, treatment is always adapted to the child's age, size, and comfort level.
Absolutely. Chiropractic care during pregnancy uses gentle techniques that are adapted to your changing body. Many pregnant patients seek care to help with back pain, pelvic discomfort, and other common aches associated with pregnancy. Treatment is always modified to keep both you and your baby comfortable throughout your care.
Absolutely! Not every adjustment involves the familiar "cracking" sound. Dr. Renee regularly uses instrument-assisted techniques that don't produce that noise. If you have a preference, just let us know—we'll work with you to find an approach you're comfortable with.
We can often book new patients the same day or the next business day, depending on availability. Online booking is available up to one hour before your appointment, and if you're trying to book on shorter notice, just give us a call—we'll do our best to fit you in.
Yes, appointments are required. If you are in the area and are looking to get onto the schedule, just call the office and they will see what Dr. Renee's availability is like.
A credit card is required to secure your appointment when booking online. It isn't charged unless you miss your appointment without notice. Unfortunately, this policy became necessary due to an increase in no-shows over the past several years.
Dr. Renee uses a variety of chiropractic techniques and always chooses the one that's most appropriate for you. Patient comfort, health history, and personal preferences are always taken into account. If there's a particular technique you're uncomfortable with, just let us know—we're happy to adapt your care whenever possible.
In many cases, yes. If it's safe and appropriate to do so, Dr. Renee will typically perform a complaint-based adjustment during your first visit. However, if further testing or imaging is needed before treatment, your adjustment may be postponed until those results have been reviewed. Every recommendation is made on a case-by-case basis with your safety in mind.
Every patient is different. Your recommended schedule will depend on your examination findings, your goals, and how your body responds to care. As you improve, appointments are typically spaced farther apart. Throughout your care, we'll regularly reassess your progress and make adjustments to your treatment plan as needed.
After the initial visit, the progress of each patient will be reassessed periodically. Typically a re-evaluation is performed by Dr. Renee every 12 visits. Re-assessments must be performed within 24 visits as per College of Chiropractors of Ontario standards of practice.
Most extended health plans include coverage for chiropractic care, but every plan is different. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage and whether a referral is required. While we don't direct-bill extended health benefits, we'll provide you with an invoice you can submit for reimbursement.
We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.
A credit card is required for online booking and is only charged in the event of a missed appointment without notice.
